A wikorum is a place to share, archive and edit information collaboratively. It's a portmanteau of the words 'forum' and 'wiki'.

Some Well-Known Wikorums

...and some that'd like to be

Well, we're hoping to extend this list. Would you like to see your wikorum here? We'd be glad if you think this is a cool name. If not, we're also interested in your feedback so why not just drop us a line!

What this is about

Discussion groups have their history on the net. They suffer from off-topic discussions, bad-tempered moderators and outdated technology. Q&A platforms tend to outdate quickly and still require the reader to gather the relevant information while scotching elaborated discussions.
Wikorums aim to alleviate that through collaborative moderation and edit features which guarantee a high quality level. A challenging reputation system saves the system from spammers and motivates users to actively participate in the community.

So, what about the term?

Isn't it annoying to keep referring to something that doesn't have a name? We felt a name was desperately needed, so this is our suggestion.
We tried to fit the words »blog« and »collaboration« in there, too but it didn't really work out...
If you think this word is any good, you might want to vote for it, link to this page, drop us a line and call Santa so all children in the world get their StackExchange accounts next Christmas...
